The Story of Colombian Arabica Coffee

Rooted in 1730
Coffee arrived in Colombia in 1730, brought by Jesuit settlers. The fertile soils of the Cauca region and the heart of the Coffee Axis (Eje Cafetero) became the birthplace of a legacy that still defines Colombian coffee today.

By the late 1800s, coffee had become one of Colombia’s most important exports. In 1927, the National Federation of Coffee Growers of Colombia (FNC) was formed—championing farmers and cementing Colombia’s reputation for quality.
